Great Annual Scarecrow Contest at Flamingo Gardens: “Flamingo Gardens is looking for your imaginative interpretation of the classic scarecrow for our 10th Annual Great Scarecrow Contest. Use your imagination to select a theme for your scarecrow. Whether you choose a traditional, contemporary, or humorous approach, is up to you. Your scarecrow can be whimsical, frightening, funny or sad, and will be placed in the gardens during the month of October.” For more information, click here.

2nd Annual Once Upon a Baby Expo: “Learn more about becoming a parent, mingle with local pediatricians, experience a one-stop shop for the best resources, newest products and best services for young families! Zun Zun Children’s Festival at Miami-Dade County Auditorium: “FUNDarte’s 2018-19 season kicks off with their International Festival of The Arts for Youth and Children, Zunzún Children’s Fest Oct. 5 from 2-5 p.m. at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. The free event is part of the Fun Arts for the Family Series at Miami-Dade County Auditorium. The show features music from Rita Rosa Ruesga (Cuba/Miami), Musicall with a children’s orchestra conducted by Jose Antonio Bornot and other multi-cultural presentations to spotlight “La hispanidad” of Latin America and the Caribbean.” For more information click here.

GIPA Family-Friendly Oktoberfest: “The German International Parent Association welcomes parents and children of all ages at its 28th annual Oktoberfest, showcasing the students of Miami-Dade County's German magnet language programs! Admission and parking are free for this afternoon of fun for the entire family in an outdoor carnival setting. Last year's event attracted almost 2,000 visitors! Tickets for food, beverages, desserts, carnival rides, game booths, and children’s activities can be purchased for a discounted price online from now until October 2nd at http://www.gipa.org/oktoberfest, or they can be purchased for $1/ticket at the event.“ For more information, click here.
