Gummy worms, anyone? Today is National Gummy Worm Day, and we are here to help you celebrate with our weekend recipe guide!

  • Gummy Worm Ice Cubes (courtesy of momtastic.com)

Ingredients/supplies

  • ice cube tray

  • gummy worms

  • water OR colorful beverage (like Gatorade or fruit juice)

Directions

  1. Fill each well in an ice cube tray ¾ of the way up with water, Gatorade, or fruit juice. I used four different colors for my ice cubes, so I separated out the colors accordingly.

  2. Add 2–4 gummy worms to each ice cube well, making sure that at least part of the gummy worm is sticking out of the top of each ice cube well.

  3. Freeze the ice cubes for 4–6 hours, until completely solid.

  4. Remove the ice cubes from the tray. Fill a cup with the ice cubes and pour water, juice, or clear soda (like Sprite) over the top. Sit back and see if your little one does a double take before they take their first sip. Enjoy!

    To Make Nigiri Sushi:

Cut small rectangles out of the marshmallow treats about the size of the gummy fish. Wrap a small piece of fruit leather tape around the fish and marshmallow treat. Repeat with remaining small rectangles of marshmallow treats.

    To Make Maki Sushi:

Lay a gummy worm and a licorice twist along the short side of one of the 3 large marshmallow treat rectangles. Roll marshmallow treat around the gummy worm and licorice. Trim extra marshmallow treat and use fingers to seal the edges around the sushi roll. Wrap a fruit roll up around the sushi roll, pressing to seal it into place. Using a sharp knife, slice off 1 inch pieces of sushi.
