Moonlight Canoe Tour at Deering Estate: “Take a Canoe Tour across Biscayne Bay! These tours will depart from Charles’ Deering’s boat basin and stop over at Chicken Key, a seven-acre mangrove island and bird rookery approximately one mile off-shore. Enjoy a campfire and s’mores at the end of event. Please bring closed-toe shoes that can get wet, comfortable clothing, snacks, and water. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. For ages 18 & older. Fast Lane Friday at Homestead Miami Speedway: “Law enforcement and advocacy groups long have sought safe alternatives to illegal street racing that plagues South Florida roadways. To combat this dangerous activity, Homestead-Miami Speedway created “Fast Lane Friday”, a legal drag racing event open to all car enthusiasts 18 and older with a valid driver’s license and proof of registration/insurance. Drivers will be able to race their cars against other street-legal cars on the drag strip as many times as they would like throughout the night.” For more information, click here.

Paddletopia at Surfside Beach: “After a successful inaugural event in 2018, Paddletopia is back in Surfside for a second season. This complimentary two-day extravaganza will be taking place Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th at the 96th Street Park and promises to be an exciting adventure for the entire family! Kodomo No Hi! Japanese Children’s Festival at Miami Children’s Museum: “Celebrate Kodomo No Hi, which is “Children’s Day” in Japan! Write your name in Japanese calligraphy and construct simple origami. Create sumi-e paintings or festive carp banners throughout the day. Join our theater troupe for special Kamishibai Story Telling, and watch amazing Taiko drumming performances by Fushu Daiko at 1 & 3 pm. Jazz in the Pines Concert: Tito Puente. Jr. & His Jazz Band: “The City of Pembroke Pines Recreation and Cultural Arts Division welcomes everyone to enjoy free Jazz in the Pines concerts as they continue in the new year at the Charles F. Dodge City Center located at 601 City Center Way in Pembroke Pines. An assortment of music to stimulate minds and relieve stress will delight all ages. There is plenty of room to set up lawn chairs, spread a blanket and take in the relaxing entertainment with family and friends.
